Jimmy Chen (b. 1976, Toronto) earned a BA in Art from University of California Santa Cruz in 1998 with honors. His paintings are widely held in private collections internationally, after being represented in the Bay Area and New York City. After a formative hiatus, during which he pursued writing, he has returned to his first love of painting.

He is an administrator for the city’s largest employer besides itself, where he anticipates retiring in large part for the pension, and does not find this a hindrance to his painting, but rather, considers the financial disassociation with painting necessary to pursue the latter with naivety and wonder.

He lives in San Francisco in with his wife and children.
